Maturity value
$13,804.20
A fixed deposit (FD) pays a guaranteed rate over a set term. This calculator shows your maturity value and the interest you will earn based on the deposit amount, rate, term and how often interest compounds.
Formula
Maturity = P × (1 + r ÷ n)^(n × t), where P is the deposit, r the annual rate (as a decimal), n the number of compounding periods per year and t the term in years.
Example
$10,000 at 6.5% for 5 years, compounded quarterly, matures to about $13,804 — around $3,804 in interest.
Frequently asked questions
What does compounding frequency change?
More frequent compounding (monthly vs yearly) earns slightly more interest for the same rate, because interest starts earning interest sooner.
Is the interest taxable?
FD interest is usually taxable as income in most countries. This tool shows the gross maturity value; your net return may be lower after tax.
